The threat of Cancer continues grow within our society and sadly has become more common. Everyone is keenly aware of how it haunts families who have loved ones battling this disease or are close to someone else who is. Individuals coming together as a unified force in showing that all-important support can certainly help others around them cope. There are never any easy answers, and from time to time the best thing that we can do for someone else is to simply listen to him or her. There are so many unspoken fears and unanswered questions that are associated with this unforgiving disease, and at one point: we all must face the inevitable. However, no one should ever have to confront that prospect alone. And, that is where we come in.




We want you to know that you are not alone. If you know someone who has lung cancer, or any other cancer (that aspect little matters to us,) we wish to continue to extend to everyone a warm, caring atmosphere for those who are in need of support. We want to keep our doors open to those looking for a safe haven amongst other deviants who have a strong idea of where you are coming from. We also hope to stay connected to one another by sharing our unique stories. So, with this all in mind, we ask you:



Everyone has a different perspective, wisdom to shed on this subject, and heartfelt memories that are related to it. Oftentimes, it is that very memory or touching narrative that keep our hearts connected to one another. In that we not only find comfort, we also discover a new sense of understanding. That comfort can shed a brand new light. We want to hear your story and what it means to you.  




Have a story to tell us? Write or show us what that is by using any visually artistic or literary tools at your disposal. What this entails is creating a significant piece telling us, for example: how fighting this particular cancer (or others) has impacted your life and/or those around you. Or, why not share with us how you felt after your first encounter with the disease? The sky is the limit. Be as creative as you wish. With each entry, a $5.00 donation will be made towards the Lung Cancer Alliance.



  You may submit your entries under any category that you wish. This includes, but is not limited to: literature, photography, digital or text art.

You may send in as many of these as you like under different categories. We like variety. However, be sure to note all of your entries to `LadyLincoln c/o #LungCancer-Awareness, marked as: “My Cancer Story.”

Your deadline is April 25th, so you will have plenty of time to be as creative as you wish, just be sure that it relates to our cancer theme. What sort of things are we looking for, you may ask? Here are some examples from our gallery: Grandpa Tony and Voices.

Please keep all visual and Literature entries as polished and clean as possible.
